Congratulations Carlisle Team 5! -
You were our top performer, coming in a
fantastic 5th place out of 76 elementary teams. That is wonderful! (P.S. You
beat Mrs. Nettling, too). The Cincinnati Enquirer posted the
rankings as of Thursday, and have an
article about an amazing 6th Grader who is beating everyone! They will
have a complete wrap-up with an article in Wednesday's Business Section.
Below are the unofficial final rankings.

12-08 With ONE DAY LEFT!
- It was not a great day on the market...
Total equity for Teams 1, 2, 4, and Mrs. N.
dropped about $2,000, Teams 3 and 6 dropped only slightly, and Team 5 went
up about $8.00. Should we have sold our stock on Tuesday when we all decided
to hold on to the end???

12-3.
With one week to go, the
Elementary Division of the Stock Market Game is showing off their
skills! Carlisle Team 4 continues to be our high performer even though it
slipped slightly to 6th place in their division. While the cash and
portfolio equity of Mrs. Nettling and teams 1, 2, and 4 decreased this week,
teams 3, 5, and 6 made all the right moves to increase in value. Friday,
December 9th will be the final day of this season's Stock Market Game. Good
luck, teams!
11-26.
Thanksgiving not only gave us time for family, it also reminded us that this
is the time to kick-off some great
shopping!
Economists are predicting a 6% increase over last year! This gave some of
our teams the idea to buy retail stocks -- but did they choose wisely? It was
another great
week
on the stock market. Congratulations to three of our teams who ranked in the
top 15 of the
Elementary Division, and are posted in the Business Section of
The Cincinnati Enquirer. Scroll down, and you will see that all our
teams are still "making money"! Only two weeks to go for the conclusion of
this Stock Market Game.
11-19.
Nasdaq and the S&P are at 4 1/2 year highs making this an exciting
week
to be playing our Stock Market Game. Congratulations to two of our teams --
Carlisle 2 and Carlisle 4 -- for making the "Top 15" posted in the Business
Section of The Cincinnati Enquirer. The Carlisle 2 team is ranked at
12th place in the
Elementary Division, and the Carlisle 4 team is ranked at an exciting
3rd place! Wow! Coming close to the top 15 was Carlisle 1, who came in
at 17th place. As you can see by checking the actual equity columns (scroll
down), all our teams are "making money"!
Next week will be interesting as Carlisle 4
risked it all on Friday and made some new stock purchases. Did they choose
wisely?
11-12.
Our portfolios continued to do well this
week!
Congratulations to Carlisle 1, who improved to 15th place, Carlisle 2 is in
13th place, and our Carlisle 4 team continues to hold on to the great
finishers at 4th place. All three of these teams were posted in the
Elementary Division rankings in the Saturday Business Section of The
Cincinnati Enquirer. Noteworthy in the high school division, neighboring
Springboro High School teams are ranking 12, 8, 5, and #1! They report that
the stocks performing well for them include Abercrombie & Fitch, Wal-Mart,
and Best Buy. Could this have something to do with the holiday season at our
doorstep?
11-05.
It was another great
week on
the stock market! Congratulations to all our teams. Every one of them is
making money! Special congratulations to Carlisle 2 who has moved up to
12th, and to Carlisle 4 who has moved up to an outstanding and competitive
3rd place! Both of these teams made this Saturday's Business section of
The Cincinnati Enquirer which lists the top 15 teams as of Thursday. You
can view the
Elementary Division rankings online. Scroll down to see a summary of all
our teams throughout the weeks.
10-30.
What a great
week on the stock market! The Cincinnati Enquirer has published the top
15 teams in the Cincinnati region as of Thursday this week. You can
view
those
Elementary Division rankings online! Congratulations to our Carlisle 4
team who is currently in 4th place in their division, are ahead of the
current 1st place teams in both the Middle and High School Divisions, and
are leading all but one adult! Awesome! Way to go!
10-23. The Carlisle teams shown below are all from Mrs.
Nettling's 5th Grade class. Each team started with $100,000. We waited to
buy stock until the second week of the game. Each week we meet in our stock
market teams on Tuesday and Friday. The Cincinnati Enquirer
lists the top 15 teams as of Thursday in that week. Congratulations to Team
5 who has been in the newspaper for two weeks in a row!
Below are the rankings as of Saturday of each week (The Cincinnati
Enquirer publishes the Thursday rankings).
